Chichén Itzá

Description

This beautiful archeological site was built around diverse architectonic units that communicated with each other across distinct paths called sacbé. The most important of these units was the Temple of the Thousand Columns, where the city’s most important political and administrative activities were addressed. This is believed based on its spatial disposition, of palatial character, suitable for the reception annd circulation of specific groups of people, the ruling class.

EThis archeological site expands across a terrain of 5 km2 (3.1 mi2). During our visit, we dive into a deep zone called Cenote Sagrado, approximately sixty meters in diameter (197 ft). Sacrifices and ceremonial rituals were believed to be performed in the depths of this beautiful scenery. Additionally, several sacred objects have been found as mortuary offerings.
