When should I go?

  • In general, the weather in Yucatán is always good, if not hot. If you are flexible with your travel dates, the best time is during the dry season, avoiding holiday periods (the region is very popular with tourists).
  • The best time to go is November and April/May.

  • The rainy season lasts from June to September, but this does not mean you should avoid these months.

  • Traveling through Yucatan in summer It may not rain until mid-July. Afterwards, it usually rains every day, but not all day. Rain usually arrives late in the afternoon. Therefore, we recommend that you plan your activities in the morning so that you can return to your hotel in plenty of time.
  • Yucatán is very popular during July and August, which is high season. You should also keep in mind that some landscapes are more beautiful during the rainy season. In particular, the Calakmul reserve, where we love to go in summer, when everything is green. There may be hurricanes in September, but it is not systematic.
  • In 2017, storms were most likely in August. Again, this is very unpredictable. There is a risk that some activities may be canceled in the event of a storm, but this may occur in early June or late September. Let's call it a stroke of luck!
